[extra 01] Wild Tornados in Northern Italy
It happened yesterday: Tornados over parts of Northern Italy and violent gusts of wind topple train carriages. Images taken from above with a drone show the devastation caused by a tornado that hit Borgo Mantovano, in the province of Mantua in Northern Italy. Gusts of wind at over 150 kilometres per hour toppled the carriages of a goods train stopped in the Poggio Rusco yard. “In many years, I had never seen trains overturned by the wind. Incredible scenes even in nearby houses, with roofs blown off and basements flooded”, commented the mayor of Borgo Mantovano, Alberto Borsari.
