CNN: "Trump Threatened to Bomb Moscow and Beijing" ....
Goings-on in a world obsessed by war and its consequences. CNN revealed this yesterday: "Donald Trump said during a private meeting with donors in 2024 that he had tried to dissuade Russian President Vladimir Putin from attacking Ukraine by threatening to carpet bomb Moscow in retaliation."
"If you go to Ukraine, I will carpet bomb Moscow. I tell you I have no other choice", he reportedly told Putin. "But then he told me he didn't believe me", Trump added. Trump later claimed to have also conveyed a similar warning to Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding a possible invasion of Taiwan, telling him that the United States "would respond by bombing Beijing".
The statements, CNN continues, were allegedly made as Trump was preparing for a second presidential term. The audio recordings were allegedly taken during 2024 fundraisers in New York and Florida, and were later obtained by Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf, who detailed some of the exchanges in their new book, "2024".
The audio files have never been broadcast before, and the Trump campaign has declined to comment on the recordings. The audios, CNN continues, show an aggressive side to Trump, who appeals behind closed doors to wealthy donors and reveals his foreign policy strategy, including discussing the expulsion of student protesters. "One thing I would do is kick any student protesting out of the country", Trump reportedly said during a second closed-door fundraiser, vowing to crack down on pro-Palestinian demonstrations on college campuses. "Those people made a grave mistake. Kick them out of the country, and I think that will stop everything."
Trump referenced his conversations with Putin and Xi, claiming that he would have avoided the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza if he were president instead of Joe Biden, a claim he has continued to repeat as he now fights to end both wars.
